Ported Blower Install - Swap And Speed

This is a comparison of the... This is a comparison of the high-pressure side of both the stock Eaton blower (left) and the Stiegemeier-ported blower (right). As you can see, the exit area has been enlarged and polished for superior flow. A new exit port has been opened behind the primary triangle exit. This is done to ensure proper balance between the low-pressure and high-pressure flow. Considerable research and development has gone into these blowers to ensure power increases and a decrease in inlet temperature. The upper intake manifold... The upper intake manifold is bolted on the ported blower. The entire assembly bolts back on without any trouble. With the supercharger in place, it's only a matter of reconnecting everything and firing up the truck. While we had the supercharger... While we had the supercharger off, we decided to swap in a new set of spark plugs. Johnny threw in a set of Denso Iridium spark plugs to help light the fire in the combustion chamber. Everything is buttoned up,... Everything is buttoned up, hooked up, and ready to be tested on the chassis dyno and dragstrip. Johnny and DiabloSport's Willie... Johnny and DiabloSport's Willie Figueroa set up the Lightning on the chassis dyno. Johnny used the DiabloSport software to tune the engine as well as lock up the transmission to ensure consistent and repeatable runs on the chassis dyno. Initial runs showed a lean... Initial runs showed a lean condition, and Johnny burnt a new chip to compensate for it. With the air/fuel ratio corrected, the truck gained up to 416.27 rwhp and 505.85 rwtq. The curve was flatter and smoother than the runs with the stock Eaton on board. Chassis-dyno pull with stock... Comparison between stock and ported superchargers Dyno results were one thing,... Dyno results were one thing, but the dragstrip is where we wanted to see results. The Lightning responded great to the ported supercharger and ran 12.64 at 108 mph. The mph clearly shows the truck could run a bit quicker with some better traction, but in the end, the back-to-back testing results of a 0.39-second improvement and 4-mph increase in trap speed is what counts.
