15 Run on the dyno with an MSD billet distributor, Lucas 5W-30 synthetic oil (after break-in) and a K&N oil filter, the 408 eventually pumped out peak numbers of 530 hp and 534 lb-ft of torque. True to form, the 408 stroker offered a broad torque curve, bettering 500 lb-ft from 3,400 rpm to 5,400 rpm.
