Most head gaskets come with some sort of coating. But there are some engine builders that prefer to add sealant. Here we see a Cometic head gasket coated with Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket. It forms a sticky surface. Some NMRA racers have been known to peel apart the layers and coat each one separately for an even better seal. View Related Article
