TFS's new Twisted Wedge aluminum cylinder head for the 4.6L and 5.4L modular engine feature its patented Twisted Wedge combustion-chamber design, coupled with an intake valve moved to the opposite side of the camshaft, just like the Three-Valve heads on '05-and-up 4.6L/5.4L engines. This increases mid-lift airflow, as well as piston-to-valve and valve-to-bore clearance, allowing the use of higher lift cams and larger diameter valves without having to alter the bore size or flycut the pistons.
