Wet Sanding And Buffing Your Paintjob - Getting Wet
|
In the final stages of sanding, Shaun Dalton uses 3,000-grit sandpaper and a dual-action (DA) sander to complete the process. Much like the previous steps, this is done wet to keep the sandpaper lubricated. Large amounts of pressure are not needed at any point of the sanding process. Too much pressure with a foam block or a DA can result in sanding through the clearcoat into the color. This will require a reapplication of the clearcoat to restore the shine. View Related Article
