Introducing Project Silver Stealth Stang, our newest addition to the MM&FF stable. In this first installment, we install a Hotchkis suspension underneath this '99 Mustang GT.

As is the norm, we took our Pony out for some before evaluation. While the Raceway Park road course wasn't technically available for lap times, we did have enough real estate to push the car hard and get a realistic evaluation of the car's handling characteristics with the stock suspension components and rolling stock.

Hotchkis' Adjustable suspension package includes the company's adjustable upper trailing arms. These sturdy pieces replace the factory items (obviously) and afford enough movement to adjust pinion angle. Adjusting the pinion angle helps improve the car's launch characteristics.

One Of the items we installed was Hotchkis' caster/camber plates. The caster/camber plates allow for more adjustability when it comes to alignment, resulting in an alignment that can be optimized for track performance as well as street cruising.

The Lower trailing arms are made of the same 0.120-inch steel that the upper trailing arms are. Both the uppers and the lowers come with polyurethane bushings. The job of the lower trailing arms is to help reduce flex, which helps the rearend stay centered. Thus, traction and handling is improved.

We Decided to assist the Hotchkis components in our quest for handling, as well as improve the Mustang's stance, with a set of Ford Racing Performance Parts B-spec lowering springs that we sourced from Down's Ford. The springs are billed to lower the front of the car 1 1/8 inches, and the rear 3/4-inch.
