The Final Say
TVS' blower kit from FRPP retails for $5,600, and while LaRocca went 11.77 with just the kit, keep in mind that was just as Ford designed it. Starkey pointed out there is much more to be had out of the TVS blower, as is evidenced by his 11.10-second, 131-mph best, which was run at the NMRA race in Bradenton, Florida, earlier this year. Certainly the potential for some big power numbers, as well as some lightning-quick elapsed times, are possible with the TVS. Big power and an easy installation? We'll take that combination anytime! Now let's go hunting for that pesky Z06 Corvette.

You can see the stock dyno...

You can see the stock dyno pull (red) and how it compares to the dyno run with the TVS blower (blue). The curve makes more power overall from start to finish, and is linear. There's neither a drop nor a spike anywhere in the curve-even the torque curve is flat and strong. Overall power numbers came in at 605.40 rwhp and 571.16 rwtq, which was an increase over the stock 444.13/438.10 numbers by 161.27 rwhp and 133.06 rwtq. That should wake this car up.

The results were astounding....

The results were astounding. In bad air, LaRocca's Shelby, with MM&FF Editor Evan Smith doing the driving duties, ripped off an 11.771 at 121.37 mph. With a set of drag radials and better air, low-11s and maybe even a high-10-second pass are possible.

While LaRocca chose to keep...

While LaRocca chose to keep his car equipped with the kit as Ford delivered it to his doorstep, others, such as Justin Starkey of VMP Tuning, keep pushing the new TVS blower to the limit. To date, Starkey has recorded an 11.10 at 131 mph in his own GT500 equipped with the TVS. He says there's still a lot left in the car.
