The transmission lines were undone from the transmission. To keep transmission fluid from leaking all over the place, we plugged both the line ends as well as the inlets on the trans case itself. Note: When working with the 5R55S, try to keep fluid loss to a minimum. There is no dipstick to check the trans fluid level on the 5R55S, which also means there is a special provision for adding fluid to the trans. This is done by removing the hex-head bolt on the trans pan, replacing it with a Zerk fitting, and injecting trans fluid much in the same manner you would grease a bushing. View Related Article
