Fox Lake's CNC-Ported Cylinder Heads - Fox Trot
A new set of Ford head bolts was used. They are torque-to-yield style and must be thrown away after one use. There's a six-point torque sequence. Working from the middle out, torque all bolts to 30 ft-lbs. Using the same pattern, turn each bolt 90 degrees. Next, back off each bolt. Retorque everything again to 30 ft-lbs, turn 90 degrees in the same pattern, and finally repeat the process of tightening the bolts another 90 degrees. The idea is to get the head even on the block, back off, and then do the final torque sequence. If you use ARP bolts, the torque sequence is 30 ft-lbs, 50 ft-lbs, and finally 75 ft-lbs--far easier than the stock bolts. View Related Article
