Fuel-Delivery Solution The... Fuel-Delivery Solution The car was already equipped with a larger feed line, 1/2-inch fuel rails, and 42-pound injectors--more than enough for the baseline combination. With the addition of the heads came the need for more fuel volume. Lethal Performance shipped us a sweet fuel hat that fits '03-'04 Cobra tanks, which was in this car. Fore Performance is responsible for the design and construction of the piece, and we were very impressed. Expect more Fore Performance fuel-hat combinations to be available through Lethal by the time you read this. Lethal Performance added twin... Lethal Performance added twin Ford GT pumps in the Fore fuel hat. It was more than enough for this combination and future modifications. Here is a comparison of stock... Here is a comparison of stock (right) and the Fore Performance unit (left). Which would you prefer to run in your car? The Fore piece has upgraded wiring for proper voltage to the pumps. The fuel line is also large and equal to the fitting size, unlike the stock piece that uses a factory pipe then opens up. Some minor trimming of a gasket... Some minor trimming of a gasket is needed, and the Fore piece drops right in. Dez put an '03 Cobra fuel tank in this car last year because he prefers them over stock Two-Valve tanks. The pumps drop into a bucket in the stock tank. A Cobra tank uses baffles to keep the pumps submerged in the fuel. Dez feels the Cobra tank has a more efficient way to submerge the pumps. Lethal Performance sent us... Lethal Performance sent us a dual FPDM (fuel pump driver module) wiring harness. It came with a second FPDM that is run in line with the factory unit in the car. It mounts cleanly and easily. The wiring is laid out in an organized manner as well. This is important: Do not... This is important: Do not mix up the wiring. Upgrading the fuel pump wiring is essential to performance and pump life. Baseline runs netted us 453... Baseline runs netted us 453 rwhp and 415 rwtq. That was done with a ProCharger blower (12 psi), a Trick Flow intake, AFM F-42 camshafts, a Bassani exhaust, and other bolt-on items. Adding Fox Lake Stage 2 CNC-ported... Adding Fox Lake Stage 2 CNC-ported heads netted us an increase of 32 more horsepower, as output was now 485 rwhp and 433 rwtq. Dez said he could have reached for 500 rwhp in the tune-up, but he wanted to be conservative and keep the engine alive as we were dealing with a fragile, stock bottom end. In all, the Fox Lake-ported heads, AFM F-42 cams, and Trick Flow intake were worth 120 rwhp over the stock engine with just the blower.
