Remove The cross rod and note... Remove The cross rod and note its location in the seat cover. The lower one is a bit larger than the upper support rod. The Next Step is a bit tricky... The Next Step is a bit tricky because it's pretty much done blind. To remove the headrest, reach up in the back of the seatback and note where the headrest shaft comes down. There will be a metal tab sticking out that's about 2 inches wide and 1 inch long. You'll need to wedge a screwdriver or other implement to pry the tab away to release the headrest. If the plastic guard doesn't come out with the headrest, remove it as well. To Re-Cover the headrest,... To Re-Cover the headrest, remove the two metal pins and the piece of cardboard. Peel Off the old cover. You... Peel Off the old cover. You can carefully cut it off, but we saved ours. It might make a good swap-meet part. You Can spray the foam down... You Can spray the foam down with a silicone spray, but we were able to stretch our new headrest covers over the foam without it. Make sure you hold it up and check to be sure that the grain of the fabric is straight up and down and that the ends are squared off on the corners. Slide the cardboard back on, tuck in the seams, and insert the metal pins. The Leg bolsters are next.... The Leg bolsters are next. Unbolt the frame and remove it as well as the plastic guard. Noting how the material is folded and secured, remove all the staples that are holding on the fabric. The new covers have one long side, which wraps around the long side of the bolster. Use a common staple gun (3/8-inch, or better yet, 1/4-inch staples) to secure the material. Then, bolt the frame and the plastic guard back on. Now For the seat bottom. Start... Now For the seat bottom. Start by unclipping the plastic clips on each side underneath the seat. The fabric will then fold up and allow access to the two bolster rods. These are secured with metal clips. Just pry them open and pull out the rods. On our sport seats, there is one cross rod to remove as well. Then the fabric will come right off. The Seat bottoms usually have... The Seat bottoms usually have some damage to the foam, and this can be fixed in a number of ways. You can pick up some upholstery foam at the local fabric or craft store, or if the foam is only cut, you can staple it as we did. No, ours is not the most professional way to do it, but it works and doesn't require another trip to the store. After Repairing the foam,... After Repairing the foam, lay the new cover on the top of the seat bottom, install the cross rod in the material, and secure it with hog rings. There will be another rod molded into the foam at the bottom of the crease for you to connect it to. Once that's secure, fold the material over the sides and clip the two sides on the seat frame. Estimate Where the lumbar... Estimate Where the lumbar air line needs to come through the material and cut a hole just big enough for the line to slide through. Where The factory cover had... Where The factory cover had clips on all four sides, the LRS cover has them only on the sides, not the front and rear. We secured the front and rear ends of the cover using hog rings. Note how we hog-ringed both the material and the material's seams. To Reinstall the leg-support... To Reinstall the leg-support bolsters, use your finger to press against the material to find where the two slots are, and then make two small cuts. You can use the bolster itself to guide you if necessary. Slide the bolster in and reinstall the two pins in the arms.
