Pfaff Designs came up with the aggressive paint scheme that has a nice lean towards road racing.
MM&FF is diving into a new project that should excite all of our readers-namely because you may be the one driving this awesome F-150 when we get done with it. Got your attention?
Old World Industries, parent company of Herculiner and Peak Antifreeze; Ford Racing Performance Parts; MM&FF; Air Ride; Cervini's; and a few others are picking up where Ford left off with its last Lightning truck. We're teaming up to build a supertruck intended to go beyond the typical show truck, with performance to match its sinister persona.
Starting with an '07 F-150,...
Starting with an '07 F-150, Tracy Tichenor of T&R Auto Body went to work removing body panels slated for upgrades from Cervini's CT-5000 body kit. In the process, the door handles were shaved for a clean, uninterrupted look.
Let us introduce you to Project ThunderTruck -an exciting, high-performance buildup of a brand-new Ford F-150. The truck, Old World Industries' vision of the next Lightning, is being built as a sweep-stakes giveaway. Readers can enter to win online at www.herculiner.com or www.peakantifreeze.com. Entries can also be submitted by mailing in sweepstakes/rebate slips on Peak and Herculiner products available at all auto parts retailers from April 1 through July 31, 2007.
Project ThunderTruck will be unveiled at the Detroit Autorama. The supercharged hauler will also be a feature vehicle on the '07 Hot Rod Power Tour. We hope for one of our readers to be driving this beast in the not-too-distant future.
The already stout 5.4 modular motor will be enhanced by a slew of parts from FRPP, including a supercharger, intercooler, headers, and various performance and dress-up items. Modular motor guru, Paul Svinicki of Paul's High Performance, will handle all mechanical and performance upgrades, installation, and tuning. The truck is targeted to deliver more than 500 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel.
Cervini's body kit supplies...
Cervini's body kit supplies all necessary pieces for transforming the bread-and-butter F-150 into a canyon-carving performance truck.
ThunderTruck is being created to deliver outstanding performance at every level, including acceleration, handling, braking, and towing. Air Ride will supply the suspension and lowering kit to fully realize the handling potential of the 20-inch prototype Lightning rims and Bridgestone tires. Stainless Steel Brake Corporation gets the nod for the upgraded braking system.
Cervini's Auto Designs is well known among Mustang and Ford enthusiasts for superior-quality body kits, and we'll be kicking off the project by installing the company's CT-5000 body kit, which includes a twin-scoop hood, a billet grille assembly, a front bumper kit, front fender vents, side skirts, bed sides with integrated rear wing, a rear roll pan, and a dual side-exhaust system. Well known creative genius Murray Pfaff of Pfaff Designs was called upon to create the paint scheme for ThunderTruck. The final product is a dynamic blend of performance and class.
Legendary Indiana hot-rod builder and often-seen team member on the popular Overhaulin' show, Tracy Tichenor of T&R Auto Body, was the perfect man to get this project rolling. By the time we arrived at his shop, he had already torn apart the brand-new F-150 and shaved the door handles. In less than two weeks, ThunderTruck emerged wearing its Pfaff Designs paint, Cervini's body kit, and Herculiner bedliner. Now we'll get to the performance as this rig is begging to be slammed and stuffed with more perform-ance parts.
