The Vortech Maxflow BV57 bypass... The Vortech Maxflow BV57 bypass valve relieves the pressure in the discharge tube when the throttle slams shut. Relieving the pressure is important because with the throttle-body blade closed, the only other place for the boosted air to go is back into the supercharger. That can cause catastrophic failure in a high-boost application like this one. The BV57 prevents that scenario by relieving the boost into the atmosphere. We used a SuperFlow SF-901... We used a SuperFlow SF-901 engine dyno to test the Superstar Stroker. Groh uses a strap to prevent... Groh uses a strap to prevent the discharge tube from blowing off the supercharger while under boost. Groh and Papuga broke in the... Groh and Papuga broke in the engine by idling it and kept it steady at 2,000 rpm for a period of time. They then checked the engine for any problems and made some adjustments to the engine-management system. Engine rpm was limited for the first slew of runs to 4,000 rpm. Then the self-imposed limit was raised to 5,000 rpm. Each time Groh ensured the fuel and timing maps were tuned properly. The engine was then revved to 6,000 rpm where it made the max of 1,043 hp and 913 ft-lb of torque. We were denied making runs above 6,000 rpm due to a faulty ignition-wiring problem. Despite the short runs, we were still satisfied with the results. Originally, we were going... Originally, we were going to run a FAST fuel-injection system, but the dyno was already equipped with a Big Stuff 3 setup. Groh handled all of the fuel-injection tuning and base maps.
