With the valve cover off, the camshafts are exposed. The gears look a bit different than their Two-Valve mod motor cousins. That's because the Three-Valve engines feature variable cam timing. The sensor behind the left side of the cam sprocket receives information from the computer and controls the oil flow, thus controlling the advance and retard of the camshafts. View Related Article
