Shelby GT500 Bolt On Test Going Down The Track
Armed with a bucket of bolt-on parts and pieces, we took this brand new Shelby GT500 to the strip to see how quick we could get it to run.

Shelby GT500 Bolt On Test Under The Hood
Our foundation for the test lies under the hood of the 800-mile Shelby. The iron-block 5.4-liter modular powerplant showcases a factory Eaton blower and 500hp capability. While the original package was good, we wanted to make it better.

Shelby GT500 Bolt On Test Launching
Before we started installing the bolt-ons, we needed to make a few baseline runs so we could have a starting point. Shelby GT500 Bolt On Test Installing The Wheels And Tires
Our mechanic for the day, Shaun Lacko of JDM Engineering, handled the dirty tasks. While it wasn't a NASCAR-timed pit stop, it wasn't long before the stock wheel/tire combo was swapped out for the drag radials. After Lacko torqued the wheels, he set the tire pressure at 16 psi and we let 'er rip.
