We also had to make this connection... We also had to make this connection under the console for the overdrive switch. The swap requires this different... The swap requires this different driveshaft yoke. Next up was the BC transmission... Next up was the BC transmission cooler, which mounted easily in front of the radiator. This not only works better than the factory setup, but it also means you won't have to buy a whole new radiator. Alan Brown brought his handy... Alan Brown brought his handy tubing bender to fab up the tranny cooler lines. He also used a flare tool on the ends to provide a slip-free fit. With the 4R70W in the car,... With the 4R70W in the car, we could bend some lines from the transmission to the front of the car. While you could run a hard line all the way to the cooler, Brown prefers to separate them with a section of rubber to allow for engine twisting and vibration. If you're going to use some... If you're going to use some rubber hose, be sure it is designed for transmissions, as regular rubber hose isn't up to the task of handling the high pressures that come with the job. To further convince the masses... To further convince the masses that this is a factory installation, we picked up this Mach 1 shifter bezel. Although it's difficult to see at a glance, its shade of aluminum is slightly off from the stock ring, but it'll work. With the driveshaft and exhaust... With the driveshaft and exhaust buttoned up, we installed the new computer and downloaded the needed programming. Then we ran the car through its gears to make sure everything was cool. After making a small adjustment to the linkage, we were good to go. Further tuning of the transmission... Further tuning of the transmission was necessary in our application due to the aftermarket parts in the trans and the overabundant amount of horsepower and torque we were dealing with. HP Performance's Tony Gonyon made several changes to the car on the dyno before confirming the swap with a full pull. Subsequent tuning on the road was performed to adjust shift points and line pressure for both comfort and performance.
