Hidden Ford Nitrous Oxide System - The Street Racer's Special - Tech

A micro switch was wired into... A micro switch was wired into the gas pedal so the system sprays nitrous only when the engine is at wide-open throttle. The micro switch provides a break in the power to the solenoids. When the switch is thrown at WOT, the electric current is connected and the solenoids open up. When the driver gets off the gas pedal, the switch breaks the current and the solenoids close. Working under the dashboard... Working under the dashboard can be difficult, just ask Danny Kester of JPC. Burcham double-checked everything... Burcham double-checked everything before we tested the upper manifold for proper distribution. Holliday filled the small... Holliday filled the small 5-pound NOS bottle. The initial hit of the sauce... The initial hit of the sauce showed us the distribution wasn't optimal, which Burcham expected due to the inefficiencies of long runner intakes. We moved the vacuum log around... We moved the vacuum log around a bit under the manifold for better distribution. This pattern seemed to be as close to equal as we could get. Each port expelled nitrous, some a bit more than others. While it wasn't perfect, Burcham reiterated his statement from earlier in the day: "You won't get equal distribu-tion with EFI-style intakes." He said it is an inherent problem with these types of intakes and any nitrous system on the market. So much nitrous was used to... So much nitrous was used to test the spray pattern that we actually froze the vacuum block under the manifold. NOS not only provides a kick... NOS not only provides a kick in the pants for your Mustang, but the company also offers energy drinks to pick you up when you are feeling tired. Sorry for that shameless plug for the NOS Energy Drink. We did down quite a few NOS cans during the install. Totally hidden and totally... Totally hidden and totally worth 66 hp at the rear tires-without anyone ever knowing.
