Here we hooked up the hoses for evaporative emissions, the brake booster, and the PCV valve.

A pulley measuring 331/48 inches produces about 10 pounds of boost, but that can go as high as 20 pounds with a 271/48-inch pulley.

The stock throttle body fits right on the inlet for the Whipple blower case.

The stock heater hose feeds into a hard line that runs under the factory manifold, but in order to clear the new Whipple intake, the hose has to be rerouted along the passenger side of the engine.

The new, higher-flowing air filter goes on the intake tube.

You can reuse the stock mass air flow sensor on the new intake tube.

The intercooler's reservoir for coolant fits neatly in the engine bay.

The pump for the intercooler fluid is located at the bottom of the radiator on the driver side. After wiring it into the fuse panel, this unit runs whenever the ignition key is in the "on" position.

Ford Racing supplies a Pro-Cal Calibration Flash tool. This software downloader calibrates the engine's computer to either a stock or performance setting. The operation is simple, basically a plug-'n'-play deal, with no laptop tuning required.

After fitting the longer accessory belt supplied with the blower kit, all that remains to be done is adding oil to the blower case, refilling the coolant system, and topping off the fluid reservoir for the intercooler.

Installed on the Mustang, the Whipple twin-screw blower looked like a factory piece and bumped horsepower into the Shelby GT500 range-and beyond.
