Snow Performance Methanol/Water Injection Kit - Putting the Cool in Your Cobra

The new variable controller is a trick piece that reads MAF voltage and provides water/methanol injection accordingly.

There are two simple adjustments for initial and full quantity delivery.

There are many places you can mount the controller, but we wanted it to be easy to access and close to the power source. We opted to pop rivet it to the fuse/relay box cover.

The controller must be wired to the mass air meter, as well as key-on 12-volt power and ground sources. The provided instructions are informative and make wiring a snap.

Lacko installed a relay to provide a constant 12-volt power source.

A simple LED is supplied to let you know when the water/methanol injection is kicking. Obviously, if you're on the hammer and it's not on, it acts as a warning sign as well.

Short of the exposed blue controller box, the engine bay looks as though nothing has changed, yet we've added nearly 30 hp and 35 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

If you cannot obtain methanol from your local racetrack, HEET gas-line antifreeze and water remover will do the trick. Windshield washer fluid that is good to -20 F usually contains 33 percent methanol. Snow Performance is in the process of marketing its own methanol to make it easier for you. Oh, and just add water.

Tuning for the methanol included both reducing fuel and adding timing. Our biggest gain came at 5,000 rpm, where we had picked up nearly 37 hp and 42 lb-ft of torque.
