Thanks to Ford Racing, we had the ultimate 4.6 tester at our disposal in the form of the '03 Cobra crate motor. Rated at 390 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, the supercharged four-valve produced not only impressive power in stock trim, but also had plenty of potential once we got more serious with the modifications.

Installed on the dyno and equipped with the factory ignition timing curve, the supercharged 4.6 produced 483 hp and 427 lb-ft of torque at a maximum boost reading of 8.9 psi. Using the F.A.S.T. to supply 23 degrees of total timing increased the torque output by as much as 40 lb-ft.

South Florida Pulley Headquarters supplied its trick Dial Ur Boost (DUB) interchangeable pulley system for our Cobra motor. The DUB system featured a pressed adapter hub that allowed the quick and easy installation of different blower pulleys.
