Downs Ford Motorsport added American Racing Headers full-length, 17/8-inch headers and H-pipe with catalytic converters. The Downs team decided on the H-pipe rather than an X-pipe in order to eliminate the raspy noise associated with the X design. A Big Daddy Performance custom tune was also written for Varrone's GT500. It pounded out a respectable 703 rwhp and 659 rwtq at 17 psi of boost.
