With the grippy NT-555RIIs, I picked up the pace considerably, and lapped at 1:25.68 seconds, but also nailed laps of 1:25.73, 1:25.77 and 1:26.52. In addition to having more bite, the new tires were very predictable, meaning I could really feel what the car was doing under me. One of the biggest differences between the two tires was the entry and exit speed in the corners. With the additional traction I was able to get into the corners carrying more speed because the Mustang dug in so well on initial turn in. On exit I still used a smooth application of throttle, but I was able to get to the floor much quicker than with the standard tires. View Related Article
