Slippery Situation
Joe Stefanacci explained that optimum performance can be realized when the oil has reached approximately 260-270 degrees (although this may not be necessary with certain synthetic oils). It's virtually impossible to get the oil this hot and keep it there before a run by simply running the engine. Instead, we recommend using a heating pad, or an internal style that can be mounted inside the pan or dry-sump tank.
