Unfortunately crashes do occur, but most of the drivers walk away unscathed. Rollbars, fire jackets, and approved seatbelts do nothing for performance, but can save lives when horrible situations arise. The Fun Ford Weekend Street Warrior racer here was hit by his opponent during eliminations. Not having the proper rollcage and safety equipment could have resulted in bodily harm or possibly death.
