Ford hit the nail on the head with the '03 Cobra. Powered by an iron-blocked, four-valve 4.6 engine and an Eaton M112 intercooled supercharger, this beast knocks off low 11-second times with minor bolt-ons and cheater slicks. In 2002, the NMRA hosted a heads-up shootout for these machines and it was a huge success. Some of the competitors were pumping out 10-second times and 120-mph trap speeds.
