We recently broke ground on our latest project, Hypersilver. Built to commemorate our 25th Anniversary, this over-the-top Fox will be unveiled at the SEMA show this year, and will be unlike any other Mustang we've ever built. It started as a bare shell on a rotisserie, and we're going to bring you every step as it progresses.

When it comes to supercharged applications, smaller pulleys equal more boost, right? Well, not always. On most positive displacement supercharged applications, the restriction can be found before the supercharger--in the inlet (air intake, throttle body, and plenum). Whether it's a stock GT500 or an aftermarket bolt-on kit, pulleys can help make more boost, but only up until the inlet has reached its maximum flow capacity.

There's no arguing that the '11 5.0L GT is raising the eyebrows of even the most hardcore Mustang enthusiasts. With a 412hp rating, it's more powerful (as rated by Ford) and just as quick as a stock Terminator Cobra. The still-popular Terminator had a little help from an Eaton twin-screw supercharger, while the '11 GT is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0L Four-Valve powerplant.

The folks over at Hennessey Performance (HPE) are constantly stepping things up a few notches when it comes to just about everything. This time around they took the Ford SVT Raptor truck and turned it into a full-size SUV, creating a beast known as the Hennessey VelociRaptor! Yes, you read that right, a Raptor-based sport-utility vehicle with seating for eight. This isn’t your garden-variety Expedition, folks.

The new 3.7L V6 Mustangs are already pretty quick out of the gate considering they lack the two extra cylinders like its high-performance sibling, the Mustang GT. Going into the 44th Annual Aaron's 499 race weekend at the Talladega Superspeedway this year, weather was on everybody mind. NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying was rained out on Saturday and many of the Goliaths of the sport thought Mother Nature was their biggest threat. In the end, it was David who conquered Goliath. David Ragan, that is.

Any Mustang enthusiast can appreciate a nice clean swap. That’s what Jesse Houseman from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, did to his ’88 Fox body that once was in rough shape. On the outside it looks like one super clean, yet unassuming, Mustang, but prop up the hood and you’ll see that this fast Ford is packin’ some serious heat.

After joining the Ford camp at the beginning of the 2013 season, defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Brad Keselowski has racked up quite a few second place finishes, but victory lane has been just out of reach. Finally, he was able to seal the deal with a trip to the winner's circle at the Richmond International Raceway by winning the Toyota Care 250.

At the recent 2013 Formula Drift season opener out in Long Beach, California, I had the opportunity to attend qualifying in advance of the Formula D main event. All throughout the day I was treated to screeching tires and the pungent smell of burning rubber as the drivers and their cars -- including several amazing Ford Mustangs – drifted around the track in an attempt to make it to final round.

It may seem hard to believe, but the 49th birthday of the Ford Mustang just passed this week, specifically April 17th. As if that wasn’t special enough, another milestone was accomplished at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan -- the one-millionth Mustang rolled off of the assembly line at the automaker’s state-of-the-art Auto Alliance International plant.

Source Interlink Media Presents Check to Shelby
On October 31, during the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Source Interlink Media President Chris Argentieri presented a $10,000 check to Jenni Shreeves of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. SIM, the parent company for MM&FF, unveiled a special tribute magazine and limited-edition hard-bound book this past summer, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the foundation, which was established by Carroll Shelby to help children with life-threatening illnesses and to promote continued education.

January 2013 (Wauconda, IL) - The Heidts Performance Car Challenge returns this spring to the famous Autobahn Motorsport Country Club in Joliet, Illinois (near Chicago) under the direction of the American Street Car Series staff. This is your chance to have some fun and sharpen your skills with some of the fastest Pro-Touring and Street cars in the industry at one of the best racing facilities in the country. Media coverage for the event includes editors and staff from Super Chevy, Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords and Camaro Performers. The event will also be documented by the folks at Power TV Media who will be creating a video of the racing to be posted on the Heidts’ website shortly after the conclusion of the event. Heidts Automotive Group (Heidts, Kenny Brown Performance, and Alston Racing) will kick off the event at their headquarters in Wauconda, IL on Friday May 10th with a participant BBQ and plant tour. Following the tour, participants will “cruise” back to the host hotel in Joliet, Illinois near the track to prepare for the weekend’s festivities.

Sitting in the driver's meeting the morning of the race, Sam Hornish Jr. realized the NASCAR Nationwide race shared his first name, the Sam's Town 300. Hornish would later survive two late race cautions to win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This win, his second Nationwide win in 69 starts, is the first for the Penske Racing organization since their switch at the beginning of the 2013 season back to Ford Racing. Hornish led 114 of the 200 laps and held off Las Vegas native Kyle Busch to win by 1.100 seconds.

He didn't have the best of luck during the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season, but Carl Edwards was a solid performer since the beginning of the season. While it would have been a great year for the average driver, expectations were high for the #99 Ford Fusion Team after Carl's runner-up 2011 championship finish in the closest Sprint Cup season points battle in the history of NASCAR combined with his incredible run of wins in 2011's Nationwide Series. Carl is our hero and, after 2011, we expected him to win every race in 2012. He didn't win any.

I am currently a chief master sergeant (E9) in the Air Force with almost 28 years of active-duty service. Even before I joined the military, I had a love of Mustangs. I knew I would own nothing but a Mustang the moment a Fox-body beat me in a race. At the time, I was driving a Corvette. I sold the Vette and bought a Mustang a week later and have never looked back.
