Unlike most drag cars, road race cages always incorporate a diagonal to support the main hoop in the event of a rollover. Rules vary on the construction of this diagonal, with some organizations preferring a one-piece diagonal that dissects the horizontal harness bar. On our rollcage, this two-piece diagonal is acceptable per the NASA rules only because the two abutting ends are inline with each other. If the ends were offset, it would not pass tech.
