Blower Pulley
We removed the 400hp kit's 3.875-inch blower pulley and the fuel rails from both sides of the engine. Make sure you have rags down to sop up any fuel that may come out of the fuel rails.

Blower Pulley
Here, the size difference between the 400hp kit's 3.875-inch blower pulley (left) and the Big-Boost kit's 3.375-inch pulley (right) can be seen. The smaller pulley allows the blower belt to drive the supercharger faster, resulting in more boost and, ultimately, more horsepower.

Remove Blower
With everything undone and out of the way, it was time to loosen and remove the blower. At this stage in the game, it was a one-person job to lift the supercharger off of the Three-Valve. Later on, that won't be the case.

Heat Xchanger
To ease installing the heat exchanger and routing the appropriate lines running to it, we removed the upper and lower radiator shrouds, followed by the front bumper. Don't forget to undo the foglights before you pull off the bumper.

Coupler Bolts
We installed the supplied coupler bolts; then we routed the feed lines that run from the heat exchanger to the intercooler reservoir. For '05 and '06 Mustangs, all six coupler bolts must be used, unlike the '07-and-up cars, which only need two.

Coolant
We mounted the intercooler reservoir to the driver-side inner fender. Once the reservoir was in place, we hooked up the hose that comes from the heat exchanger. When the install is finished, coolant for the intercooler will run from the reservoir, through the intercooler, then down to the heat exchanger, before making its way back into the reservoir. Looks factory, doesn't it?

Installing Intercooler
Next on the hit list was installing the intercooler itself. To do so, we flipped the blower upside down and bolted it to the bottom of the midplate. When installing the intercooler, make sure the inlet and outlet openings are facing toward the snout of the blower.
