After realizing we did not have the bearing caps for the 8.8 that we received when we purchased the car, the folks at HP Performance called up nearby salvage yard, Rusty Acres, which had a rebuildable unit delivered to us in a short time. The axle assembly was seemingly untouched, housing a stock Traction-Lok and 2.73:1 ring-and-pinion setup.
