Lights, Camera, Action
In our first two installments of the Mustang Live Buildup at the San Diego Auto Show, we highlighted suspension upgrades from Control Freak and super stoppers from Stainless Steel Brakes. Now it's time to give the interior an extreme makeover to match the improved performance.
For the light show, we turned to Classic Design Concepts (CDC), which provided a lightbar and sequential taillights. Adding to the visual treatment, CDC also showed us a quick way to dress up the back end with a custom tailpanel, and it mounted instruments in a molded gauge pod in the center of the dash. For extra splash, Woodview accented the interior with the company's latest trim package designed specifically for the S197 Mustang, and Katzkin dressed up the upholstery with soft, subtle, and colorful custom leather. Lastly, Syndicate Automotive Concepts lit the fuse on Sony's Xplod audio/video entertainment system for blasting out the latest tunes.
We've highlighted each of these segments in separate sections, so you can focus on the ones that fit into your ponycar project. But stay tuned, because there's more on the way. In our next installment we'll get into the wild custom paint and body mods, along with a big boost from a Kenne Bell blower.
Hanging Out at the LightBar
Classic Design Concepts' lightbar has been carefully crafted to fit the curves and natural lines of the new Mustang to provide a factory fit. Made of 111/44-inch round-tube steel with a molded polyurethane cover wrapped in vinyl and grained to match the interior trim, this ponycar product has a sleek aero look and also features a high-mount LED brake light. Installation is basically a bolt-on job that you can do in as little as two hours. Also, the lightbar stiffens the chassis and won't interfere with the functioning of the convertible top.

Tail Treatment
With the right performance mods, your Mustang will be seen mostly from its tail end as it dusts the competition. With CDC's sequential directional signals and a center trim panel, your Stang will look distinctive from both ends.
To give your rapid exit a dramatic departure, try these tricked-out taillights. Called the Dynamite Sticks Sequential System, it features a simple installation with no splicing and no harness, and creates high-tech lighting for your car's rear end. This advanced engineered system uses Ford OEM connectors with a preprogrammed microprocessor that controls timing for optimum performance. It comes standard with reverse-circuit protection and voltage regulation, and is sealed to protect the electronics from moisture.
In addition, CDC offers a tailpanel trim piece for the '05-'06 Mustang. This component combines heritage styling with factory-quality technology in an ABS panel that finishes out the style of the rear end and requires no drilling, no paint, and eliminates the simulated gas cap.
