To prevent flexing, Whipple includes this support bracket that mounts around the snout of the blower drive and the factory aluminum idler pulley support.

We started testing with the largest of the supplied pulleys. When combined with an 8-pound lower (meaning it is designed to make 8 psi over stock), the 3.375-inch pulley provided 18 psi of boost pressure.

JDM's Racer Kit keeps things neat by using the factory intercooler lines, along with a set of polished stands for the lines. JDM sells the Racer Kit, which includes the blower, for $3,195.

The JDM kit also uses a block-off plate for the EGR. This makes plug changes much easier and reduces heat.

Lacko also installed SCT's Big Air 2400 meter and 60-psi injectors, which is not part of the kit.

Initial pulls with the large 3.375-inch upper pulley produced 18 psi and 627 hp. This was with a max of 12 degrees timing. It's also what Mr. EVO and Mr. C-6 Corvette got when they tried us. Score it Fridge 2, Competition 0.

Whipple sent us an assortment of pulleys to try on the Fridge. We used all but one during our dyno test.

Changing pulleys required removal of the belt and four retaining bolts. The 3.00-inch pulley gave us 22 psi and 653 hp.

The biggest power numbers came with the small 2.750-inch pulley. It was good for 24 psi and 669 hp at the wheels. Using SCT tuning, D'Amore ramped up the timing from 14 to 17 degrees at WOT. Torque was 732 lb-ft.

Shown here are the pulls made with the 3.375-, 3.000- and 2.750-inch pulleys. We didn't try the 3.250-inch pulley. Also note the flat air/fuel ratio.
