You can use standard intake... You can use standard intake to cylinder head gaskets, but use a good high-quality set from Fel-Pro or Mr. Gasket. Scrap the cork end gaskets and lay a bead of silicone at each end. Then carefully set the intake straight down onto the heads making sure the bolt holes will line up. Recruit help for this step if necessary. The Edelbrock manifold uses... The Edelbrock manifold uses these small studs at several places to secure the upper plenum. As you can see, the BBK 70mm... As you can see, the BBK 70mm unit is quite a bit larger than stock. It also comes with a new throttle position sensor, which will have to be adjusted once the job is complete. Organized chaos at its best.... Organized chaos at its best. If you don't have a workbench, use some colored towels as it is easier to see bolts and nuts against a bright background. It also keeps things from rolling away. Note, we have transferred the vacuum lines to the new upper plenum. Reconnect the injectors and... Reconnect the injectors and any other sensors or cables that hide underneath the upper plenum. Place the provided gasket atop the lower plenum and then install the upper plenum making sure you don't get any vacuum lines or cables between the manifolds. Here you can see how Edelbrock removed the factory's intrusive center bolt from the air pathway and mounted it flush in the floor. Here are the studs used to... Here are the studs used to secure the intake manifold. Follow the recommended torque sequence and measurements provided in the instructions. The idle air control motor... The idle air control motor and EGR solenoid must be transferred to the new throttle-body/spacer. Reconnect the coolant lines and mass air elbow. Once you have reinstalled... Once you have reinstalled the distributor and spark plug wires, double and triple check that you have reconnected everything. The power gain from the intake... The power gain from the intake manifold and throttle-body combo offered a noticeable difference in the seat of the pants, and the dyno graph tells the story. Note how the increased air volume really paid off as the engine asked for more.
