Something's amiss here. We replaced the old bearing retainer with a new steel unit that Danny's Pro Performance had at the shop. If you are still running the original transmission, you may need to change this, as the stock aluminum ones become scored and often inhibit smooth bearing travel.

Clutch Masters Drivetrain Upgrade Rear Main Seal
Another thing to do while the clutch is out is to replace the rear main seal. As you can see, ours was leaking quite a bit (in addition to the rear intake gasket), but the flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch disk were rather clean. These leaks can cause clutch failure, but in our case, it's just too much horsepower.
