Perry Santini went a different route in the powerplant department with his Super Street Outlaw '86 Mustang GT. Instead of the traditional pushrod engine, he went with a turbocharged Four-Valve mod mill pushing out 1,000-plus horsepower.

Perry must have been a gymnast in a prior life, as he has to convolute his way into the cabin of the Mustang. All the twists and turns for ingress and egress can be attributed to the 25.2 certified rollcage. Once in place, Perry rests his laurels in a custom race seat and straps himself in with a five-point harness.

Adding to the appeal of the Pony is the Ed Quay strutless wing and Simpson parachute. This car is no poser, folks. Both items are needed, and so are the wheelie bars Perry added after our photo shoot, thanks in part to a bumper-dragging, oil-pan-cracking wheelstand.
