Fun Ford Weekend - An Epic Gathering
Bill Goguen took the MM&FF Editor's Choice Car Show Award back home to Winchendon, Massachusetts, in the backseat of his '04 Stage 3 Roush Mustang convertible. The drop-top shows a mere 6,300 miles on the odometer, and modifications include a cold-air intake, an 8-pound blower pulley, and a host of billet-aluminum accessories.
Winner
S.D. Wheeler flew in, rented a new GT-H Mustang from the Hertz dealer, and proceeded to flog it at New England Dragway. Wheeler's effort was successful as he gunned down James D'Amore in the final round of Ford Racing Ultra Stang for the win. The victory also allowed Wheeler to add valuable points to his lead in the category.
Winner
Jim Briante and his slick '00 Mustang went solo to the win in ProCharger Street Outlaw. Monster burnouts by Briante had the crowd cheering for more.
Winner
Jeremy Martorello was the only contestant in the Borla Street Warrior class. Martorella hung it all out for the fans, running a 9.55 on his single for the win.
Winner
Mark Anderson had a great weekend at Epping. He started off with a final-round victory over Rich Walsh in Superchips Racing Street Stang before taking home the hardware in the Street Ford category later on in the day.
Winner
When opponent Chris Little got wicked loose in the final round of BFGoodrich Drag Radial, Peter Champani was right there to take advantage of it. Champani did just that when he lit the win light and the scoreboards with an 8.49-second blast.
Winner
Shawn Gallagher boiled the hides and the Precision Turbo Street Renegade competition in Epping. Gallagher led number-one qualifier Mike Chandler from wire to wire in their final round race. An 8.31-second pass sealed the win for Gallagher.
Winner
Bob Cochran made it two straight wins in JDM Engineering Tough Truck as he backed up his Bristol FFW win with a victory over Chris Parisi. Cochran knocked out points leader Don Justus in the semi-finals, so only a small amount of ground was gained in the championship chase.
