Accessorize Your Ride
OK, you bought the body kit for your Mustang and had your local auto body shop paint it to match. It's bolted on and your ride is looking sweet. Now what do you do?
While the body kit added muscle and certainly enhanced the visual appeal of the car, your machine just isn't reaching its potential due to those stock wheels and the drab factory interior.
To take your Stallion or other fast Ford to the limit, you'll need to add a few extra pieces-in other words, it's time to accessorize your ride. Going all the way is what we live for in this hobby, and the MM&FF staff is always on the lookout for the greatest parts to make your machine shine better than the rest or outrun them on the track. And since we put together a huge body kit buyer's guide for this issue, what better than a story on finding the right accessories to complete the package? So here are just a few of the thousands of possible items that will help you dress up your ride for a night on the town.
Classic Design Concepts
Classic Design Concepts, or CDC, has numerous items to complement its body kit pieces. If you're the owner of an '05-and-newer drop-top Stang, CDC's lightbar is a great addition that is functional, visually appealing. Also available is a honeycomb rear trim panel for the SN-95 cars that comes either in the classic GT or the Mach 1 style. While you're at the back of your ponycar, don't forget CDC's Detail Corral. Designed for the brand-new S197 Mustangs, the Detail Corral offers you storage space for cleaning supplies and other stuff you need. The best part is, it stays neatly contained instead of being thrown all around the trunk when you whip around a corner.
CDC can help dress up your car's interior with its cast aluminum T-handle shifter knob and interior trim package. The shifter knob is available for '99-'04 models, and comes with either a Mach 1, running pony, Bullitt, Cobra, or CDC-style emblem engraved on it. The trim package is an all-inclusive kit that features pedals, locks, shifter knob, and trim ring. The kit is based off the styling found in the '03-'04 Mach 1s. Call CDC for the kit specific for your year Mustang.

Dallas Mustang
Everything is big in Texas, including the number of aftermarket parts offered to Mustang enthusiasts by Dallas Mustang. Three of its items will help improve the interior of your Stang. The stock gauges in the '99-'04 GTs are good looking, but Dallas has improved on them with its 150-mph white gauge face kit for the Two-Valve GT cars. For those with '03-'04 Mach 1s who want to show off their pride and joy, for Dallas' Mach 1 shift knob.
If you want a different look and feel from the stock '05 Mustang seats, Dallas serves up Ford GT seat covers. The covers refinish the Mustang seats to look like the buckets found in the supercar.

Late Model Restoration
Late Model Restoration has a lot of offerings in regards to restoring, as their name implies, later-model Mustangs. The company also has a few products that fit quite well into this buyer's guide. For those '99-'04 Mustang owners who aren't one of the lucky ones to hold a pink slip to a Mach 1, Late Model has a grille-delete kit that will turn your V-6 or GT Stang partway into one. The kit gets rid of the honeycomb grille, leaving only the pony emblem. Late Model also has a fender gripper trunk mat for '99-'04 Mustangs. The mat is designed to keep items placed on the trunk floor in place while driving.
There are items for the new Mustang, too. You can put clear LED taillights on your '05 Stang, or dress up your side mirrors by adding chrome mirror overlays. The really cool product offered for the new Stang is the push-button starter kit. Designed for both V-6 and GT models, the kit fits in the center power port, and looks cool as well as factory.

Mr. Bodykit
Along with its body kits, Mr. Bodykit also sells many complementary items to make your Mustang look good in and out. There are flame-faced gauges for '94-'98 and '99-'04 Mustangs. The gauges look hot (no pun intended). My. Bodykit also has lighted turn-signal mirrors for '94-'03 Stangs. These mirrors replace the factory ones, however, they will not work on cars with power mirrors.
If lighting is what you are looking for, then Mr. Bodykit has it. Mustang owners of all years can illuminate the undercarriage with the Plasmaglow LED underbody kit. The company also has a trick, lighted doorsill. Designed for '94-'04 Mustangs, the sill can be ordered to read "Mustang" or "SVT Cobra" in either red or blue. Mr. Bodykit's newest accessory is the projector headlight for '05-and-up Mustangs. The company already offered projector lights for '87-'04 Stangs, and now adds the version for the S197. The headlights come in either chrome, black, or carbon-fiber housings.
