6>8 For This Fox

What the...? Who the...? Yes, everyone, simmer down--this 10-second notch has a V-6 in it and it's no joke. The stroked six now displaces 4.3 liters and, surprisingly, utilizes many factory Ford parts for performance. The upper manifold is from a '97 Windstar minivan, and the lower is from an '01 Mustang. The ported heads are factory Split Port pieces (found in '99-and-newer Mustangs), and the fully prepped block is OEM Ford also. Pistons are Wiseco and rods are Eagle. Engine management is stock EEC V, but benefits from tuning by Monty Johnson of Mobile, Alabama. With just a 125-shot of ZEX nitrous, the little coupe has blitzed the 1,320 to the tune of 10.63 at 124 mph. That's honkin' for what most consider a rental-car lump! View Related Article
