2006 Mustang GT - Jacob Peterson - Las Vegas, NV
Since before I even had my driver's license, at 15 years old, I've only owned Mustangs. I wasn't allowed to get anything fast, but my heart was set on a Mustang. My first car was a '92 LX convertible four- cylinder Fox-body. My parents lent me the money with the terms of me making monthly payments to them. It didn't take long until I saved some and began modifying my Stang. Since it was an automatic, it only lasted so long, and after a few years of transmission abuse, the car had to go.
I sold my first Stang and moved on to an '86 LX with a six-cylinder. I was moving up the ladder on engine size, but still wasn't satisfied with my new setup. I met a gentleman at the CJ Pony Parts car show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania who had an extra 302ci engine and said he would do the engine swap for me for a fair price. I agreed to the deal, and a week later I had my first V-8.
I drove it a few months until I found what I always wanted—a '65 Mustang coupe. The car was in rough shape, but there was no way I could pass it up. I traded my '86 for it straight up. I had just gotten rid of a perfectly running car for one that did not run. I stared at it every day and imagined what it could be.
My transportation problem had now become a money problem since I made a bad decision and could not afford to get this car running. I sold it for $1,500 and with the money I had saved up, I bought an automatic '91 Mustang GT. I loved this car and had it for quite some time. It didn't take long until I lowered with Eibach Sportline springs, installed 17-inch Cobra wheels, a Cobra R-styled hood, BBK shorty headers, an H-style mid-pipe, and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers.
I am currently active in the United States Air Force and had my Stang shipped to Las Vegas where I am stationed. Unfortunately, it didn't have A/C and I couldn't bear another summer without it. I sold it three years ago and as homage to my '65 coupe, I bought a black '06 Mustang GT. It was my first manual car and within weeks of my new buy, I had installed Eibach lowering springs, and a staggered set of Bullitt wheels with Nitto 555R tires all the way around. The rear spoiler was swapped out for a GT500 spoiler and I added a CDC aggressive chin spoiler.
I also installed a Hurst shifter, Ford Racing 4.10 gears, JBA Headers, a BBK H-style mid-pipe, and SLP Loudmouth mufflers. A local shop here in Vegas did a carbon fiber vinyl wrap of the hood, roof, and trunk.
My plans for this car are big and I cannot wait to continue. A big thanks goes to my fiancé who tolerates my obsession with Mustangs.
