The NMRA crew has some time off before the next event at Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan, in June. Since it will take place in the backyard of Ford Motor Company, expect everyone to have his or her entries set on kill as the season nears the midway point.

After a semifinal finish in Bradenton, Mike Murillo ran into problems in his second-round bout with eventual Pro Outlaw 10.5 winner Conrad Scarry. Murillo's wild coupe spit out the guts in one of the turbochargers.

Shawn Hansen (near lane) squared...

Shawn Hansen (near lane) squared off against Jimmy Wilson (far lane) in the opening round of competition in Pure Street. Both drivers grabbed some serious air, and when the pair hit the stripe, Hansen got the win as his 10.79 was just enough against Wilson's holeshot-aided 10.81.

Bob Cook went from zero to...

Bob Cook went from zero to hero, as he drilled Brian Mitchell in the EFI Renegade final. Mitchell, who was the category's winner in Bradenton, made it easy on Cook when he fouled away his chance of victory.

EFI Renegade racer Jason Gerovlo...

EFI Renegade racer Jason Gerovlo saw the blue Georgia sky as the rear bumper of his '93 drop-top Mustang grated the track surface. Unfortunately, his high-flying antics ended with a red light in Round 1.

Jim Breese (near lane) came...

Jim Breese (near lane) came up short once again to Tim Matherly (far lane) in Real Street. In a repeat of the Bradenton final, Matherly held court over Breese, this time to the tune of a 9.74 to 9.81.

Don Burton (near lane) made...

Don Burton (near lane) made his way to the final round in Super Street Outlaw, while Phil Hines (far lane) ended qualifying at the top of the heap with a stout 7.48. The two tangled in the semi-finals, with Burton coming out on top.

Jarrett Halfacre pulled the...

Jarrett Halfacre pulled the 'chutes not only after each run, but on the Super Street Outlaw competition as well. After ripping off a thundering 198-mph trap speed during eliminations, Halfacre gunned down Don Burton in the final for the win.

Mike Motycka easily handled...

Mike Motycka easily handled the challenge of Johnny Lightning in the Truck final round to take home the victory. A 12.07-second pass on a 12.03 index sealed the deal.

While the weather certainly...

While the weather certainly kept the MM&FF True Street car count down, 20 contestants entered the class in hopes of taking home the glory. When the 30-mile cruise and three required runs were completed, only 13 cars had survived.

Larry Waters Jr. ended up...

Larry Waters Jr. ended up finishing as the MM&FF True Street runner-up in Atlanta. After opening with a 10.83, Waters picked up the pace with a pair of low 10.50-second runs to finish with a 10.62-second average.

Michael Young's '04 Ford F-250...

Michael Young's '04 Ford F-250 was one of two trucks that participated in True Street. Young barely missed the 13-second win with a too-quick 12.94-second average.

Stephen Posenau ripped off...

Stephen Posenau ripped off a 9.82, the only 9-second pass in True Street, and used it to solidify the True Street win. The former MM&FF feature car's three runs averaged out to a 10.22, which was more than enough to earn the victory over Second-Place Larry Waters Jr.
