 | | These True Street winners were all smiles. |
Winner Kris Mustacchio cruised back to Hadden Township, New Jersey, with the True Street 10-second title. After ripping off a best of a 9.69 with his poked and stroked '91 Mustang LX, Mustacchio ended up averaging a 10.04. Motivation for the Fox-body comes in the form of a 331 sporting a Mondo X-Trim blower shoving in 22 pounds of boosted air. | The boys from Evolution Performance competed in Mod Muscle with their thundering Shelby GT500. The supercharged beast now showcases a large-and-in-charge Kenne Bell 3.4L blower in place of the factory Eaton piece. The car made 856 rwhp on the dyno before they loaded up and went to Atco. | Sammy Vincent made the trip to Atco to try and continue his success in the Super Street Outlaw category. Unfortunately, on his second qualifying pass, he launched the pushrod on his nitrous-snorting powerplant through the rocker, causing engine damage sufficient enough to keep him from making the call for the first round. |
Justin Curry (left) lined up against Charlie Booze in the final round of Hot Street on Sunday, but the day prior, he gave the fans a show when he carried the wheelstand out to well past 330 feet. After getting the car up on one wheel-the left rear tire-the SAM Mustang came down hard and required some repair work before the first round of eliminations. | Gary Cranford's Cobra gave it a go in Factory Stock but ended up on the losing end of a first-round decision with Dennis Merrow. | Aaron Stapleton piloted the Sutton's Performance S197 Mustang to a runner-up finish in EFI Renegade. After getting a freebie in Round 1, Stapleton won his semifinal bout with defending class champion Brian Mitchell via a holeshot. Unfortunately, a stellar 0.015 reaction time and an 8.82-second effort wasn't enough against Tony Orts in the final. |
 | Winner Don Burton overcame a killer 0.007 reaction time by Yanni Papakosmas in the final to take home the Super Street Outlaw crown. Burton's 7.68 was more than enough to down Papakosmas' 7.89-second effort. | Justin Burcham ended up missing the True Street top 10 by two-stinking-thousandths of a second. Burcham, who ran a 9.77 best, averaged a 10.403, just a tick behind Corey Virnelson's 10th-Place 10.401-second average. |
 | Anthony DiSario ended up fourth on the True Street results sheet with a 9.917-second average. The '87 GT features a tried-and-true 331ci stroker with a Vortech YSi blower. DiSario ran a Powerglide at Atco, but he has gone a best of a 9.48 with the C4 three-speed automatic that will make its way back into the Stang shortly. | Winner Rob Miller found the perfect way to come home with the 11-second win in True Street. Rip off a mid-10-second pass to start with, then run a low-11-second lap, and a final pass well into the 12-second zone. Either way you slice it, Miller came home with the gold. |
 | Winner John Kokinda picked up Eric Stubbs' old ride and blew away the True Street competition with it at Atco. The '89 notchback sports a 427ci powerplant that sees extra ingestion in the form of a 101mm Precision turbocharger. Having previously run a best lap well into the 8.50-second zone, Kokinda's first pass of an 8.61 came as no surprise. | Art Heninger rounded out the True Street top three, recording a 9.858-second average, which was a mere two-hundredths of a second behind runner-up Brian Zaid. Heninger's car had bracket-like consistency, running a 9.80, a 9.86, and a 9.92 over the course of the required three runs. |
