MM&FF HAS long been known to attend nearly every monstrous-sized Mustang and Ford racing event-not all of them, but a good majority of the action-packed races. It's simple-we love racing and feel it's the backbone of the industry. It helps us stay connected to the hottest trends and the latest parts, and it keeps our fingers on the pulse of the industry by mixing it up with enthusiasts on all levels.
While we normally don't attend car shows on official business (unless they're attached to a racing event), the Knott's Berry Farm Fabulous Fords Forever extravaganza is on our list of must-see events each year. It says a lot when adrenaline-seeking race junkies hop on a plane and head cross country for a car show-the Knott's event is that good. The Fabulous Fords car show bursts with over 1,800 Ford vehicles representing all generations of Blue Oval iron.
Knott's Berry Farm is a family-oriented amusement park in Southern California, and it hosts Fabulous Fords Forever in its enormous parking lot. The legendary car show takes place in April, and preregistration is required for vehicles in the show. Entry for spectators is free, and there's a small charge for parking. The day starts early, as the gates open at 7 a.m. for participants. Given the number of entries, we suggest you get there early if you plan on showing your ride.
Weather threatened the event this year, but the rain held off and there were even some moments when the sun shined through the overcast skies. The turnout was spectacular, and the '05-up Mustangs certainly garnered a lot of attention. We're not sure of the breakdown of the number of cars from each Mustang generation, but the S197 ponycars were well represented.
By late afternoon, our feet were aching and our cameras were filled with Fords of all types. We saw everything from stock cars-even a new Hertz Shelby GT-H-to radical race cars. Whatever your pleasure, the Knott's show has something for you.
