A revolutionary new product... A revolutionary new product for nitrous users is Carnivore's Nitrousaurus-X. It is a nitrous pressure-control system that encloses your nitrous bottle and maintains a constant pressure. This container cools or heats the nitrous bottle to within 1 degree of the set temperature and draws less than 5 amps to do so. The mounting system is NHRA legal. It uses the "set and forget" method of control. You can sit in the staging lanes and not worry about your bottle pressure-the Nitrousaurus-X will maintain a constant pressure. It's still in the develop-ment stages, but FAST expects the final version to be completed soon. The intake manifold is made from polymer and is a three-piece unit. Its taller height helped the FAST engineers design larger runners. Initial testing reports of a 30-40hp gain and complete results will be released soon when the final version is produced. The Shelby GT500 might have been on the market only a short time, but the parts are flying to the marketplace. Vortech Superchargers was showing off its Shelby kit, which is based on the reversed-rotation YSi-Trim supercharger and huffs boost into the factory air-to-water intercooler using a custom bonnet supplied in the kit. This was the public's first look at the system, and Vortech plans to start shipping kits sometime in 2007. For more information: www.vortechsuperchargers.com. The Steeda Q335 Club Racer... The Steeda Q335 Club Racer was sitting pretty in the Nitto Tire booth. It was designed by Steeda engineers to excel on the dragstrip, the road coarse, and the street. Nitto threw on its NT01 road racing tires, which made this Mustang the car to beat at several open-track events. Steeda offers this Stang as a turnkey ride, or you can order the Club Racer package and Ultimate Power Pack for your Mustang. Club Racers feature a jump in horsepower and a host of track-proven suspension, braking, and aerodynamic upgrades. For more information: www.steeda.com. In addition to the aluminum... In addition to the aluminum small-block, World Products had a few other new parts on display. There were two new cylinder heads perched on top of the block. World is hitting the market with a new street head dubbed the Man O' War 18-degree cylinder head. It comes in two different sizes-200 cc (2.02 and 1.60 valves) and 235 cc (2.10 and 1.625 valves). The combustion chambers are offered in 64cc or 72cc sizes. The other head is a killer inline-valve cylinder head that is nameless right now, but on occasion has been referred to as the Man O' War Windsor. It features a 10-degree valve angle, 2.250-inch intake valves, and 1.625-inch exhaust valves. The head bolts to the Man O' War block using six bolts per cylinder-the first of its kind. It comes in 255cc or 275cc runners. Estimated airflow on the intake side is in excess of 400 cfm. It also has raised intake and exhaust ports. For more information: www.worldcastings.com. Former Pro 5.0 competitor... Former Pro 5.0 competitor Brandon Switzer has opened a nitrous company with multitime Pro Modified champions Shannon Jenkins and Mike Castellana. Switzer hasn't forgotten his roots in the Mustang market and designed this system for '05-up Mustangs. It features an rpm window switch to turn the nitrous on and off. Speedtech also offers other nitrous systems for many different applications, from Pro Modified down to the daily driver. For more information: www.speedtechnitrous.com. As usual, the new products'... As usual, the new products' section in the Edelbrock booth was crowded with new releases from one of the industry's oldest manu-facturers. Among the parts was a carburetor-type manifold designated for the Two-Valve modular crowd. The Victor Jr. intake comes in two configurations: EFI-ready, with Edelbrock's 11/42-inch fuel rails and injector bungs installed in the runners, or for carburetor applications. Expect a tech feature on this intake manifold in the coming months. For more information: www.edelbrock.com. PRI was our first peek at... PRI was our first peek at Livernois Motorsports' Stage 2 Three-Valve cylinder heads. Designed as replacements for stock or modified engines, these heads flow some serious air. They have a 225cc intake runner that flows 283 cfm while the exhaust moves 203 cfm. The valves have been changed to 34 mm (intakes) and 37.5 mm (exhaust). Precision Turbo has been one of the manufacturers helping to keep the turbo cars ahead of the competition. This year, Precision hit the market with a demented 114mm turbocharger. On a properly sized engine, it should produce somewhere in the 2,300-2,500hp range with just one of those units. Two of those turbos on top of a 700-plus-horsepower big-block engine could bring new meaning to the word excess. For more information: www.precisionturbo.net. Probe Industries is expanding... Probe Industries is expanding its product line with new piston designs. This is a 302 piston that is lightweight and budget-minded. Owner Chris Huff also showed us a few different modular engine pistons, including Three-Valve-specific ones. For more information: www.probeindustries.com.
