After a harrowing Saturday night qualifying run that had Crede Young ofBurleson, Texas, scraping the wheelie bars against the guardrail at thebig end (yeah, try to imagine that angle), he stepped up his programeach and every round. He nearly nabbed the first spot in the UPR7-second Renegade club with an 8.07-second winning run in the finalagainst Leesville, South Carolina's Jimmy Black.
