When it comes to Mustangs and exciting people, the AmericanMuscle.com car show never disappoints. Set in the rolling hills of the northeastern countryside near Malvern, Pennsylvania, the show provides Ford and Mustang enthusiasts with a chance to see over 1,000 Mustangs in one day, but also to meet industry icons and find some great deals on parts for your fast Ford.
For extra excitement, AM brought in championship-winning drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. and the master of all hot rods, Chip Foose. Best of all, the show raised $20,522 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (alexslemonade.org), which raises funds to fight childhood cancer.
Over 5,000 Ford freaks packed the Delaware County Community College facility, which provides a wonderful backdrop for the event. We spent the entire day watching hot cars roll in, and then cruised the endless rows of Mustangs and venders, and amazing food stands. It was also a treat to interact with so many members from clubs like NJ Stangers, New York Mustangs, the Red Mustang Registry, and many others.
AmericanMuscle.com had giveaway items and put on a wild dyno challenge. The challenge was won by Chris Jerkowitsch and his '04 Cobra, which laid down 795 rwhp. Enthusiasts also saw the wild Chopper Shopper (see photo) that Vaughn Gittin Jr. drove. We challenged him to drift the giant cart, but he didn't want to send the beautiful AM calendar girls for a spill.
The AM show is one we look forward to every year. We always find a slathering of hot Stangs and many make it to the pages of MM&FF. In fact, we found the February cover car sitting right there amongst the participants. So think up some unique modifications, shine your ride, and we'll see you there in 2014!
